The following error messages come up each time I go to use messenger:
An error has occured in the script on this page; line 1; character 2; error is invalid character; code is zero; URL is http://messenger.yahoo.com/external/clie...
then it asks 'Do you want to continue running scripts on this page'
I have re-installed Messenger and it still occurs. How do I fix?

Try disabling Script Debugging. If there are problems with the script on websites you visit, you'll get the error message constantly.
-In IE on the Tools menu, click Internet Options
-Click Advanced
-Click to select the Disable script debugging check boxes
-Click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check box
-Click Apply, Click OK
-A reboot may be required for your settings to stick

this is a common occurrence and really is not a problem but just an irritation. it just means it could not read some things on the page. you can try the previous answer and also just do a system clean-up. Start....accessories....system tools...disk clean-up and defrag plus open control panel and open IE and under browsing history "delete all"
I also have the same problem before. I solved it by reset internet explorer settings. Go to control panel%26gt;internet properties%26gt;advanced%26gt;reset internet explorer settings%26gt; click reset. By this way, you deletes all temporary files, disables browser add-ons, and resets all the changed settings. By the way, I'm using windows vista home premium 64 bit. Happy trying. :)
