i had no problems until a few days ago. Now every other time i get on the net i eventually get "this program is not responding" send error report? Also, this happens everytime i try to get into the chatrooms ive been in many times before. Iv'e done a virus check, all popup blockers and firewalls are off. What am i missing? Why would explorer be doing this? yahoo, and google?

Did you update your internet explorer to 7? On some systems this causes a bit of a problem, if so simply go back to the previous version.

my suggestion is switch to firefox or opera. they're just as good if not better web browsers... my personal favorite is opera...try it and I'm sure you'll love it;)
