For a while now, I haven't been able to use Yahoo!Messenger to get into a chat room. I get an Internet Explorer script error message and Messenger crashes when I try. I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling Messenger, to no avail. Apparently Yahoo!Messenger runs off of Internet Explorer. Now, I'm wondering if installing Yahoo!Internet Explorer will fix the problem, as it is supposedly designed to work with Yahoo!Messenger. I've been using Messenger version 7, although the version doesn't seem to be of consequence. I've had the same IE error message with other versions too, and went back to version 7, as it has always worked best for me. I tried for weeks to fix the problem, using registry cleaners, defragging the hard drive, scanning for viruses, deleting cookies, and everything I could think of. Still the IE error message comes up when I try to enter chat, and Messenger crashes. Should installing Yahoo!Internet Explorer fix the problem?
Anyone tried the new Yahoo!Internet Explorer?microsoft works
I can't see the instant messages.
When you send or receive an instant message and no message appears, you probably have scripting disabled in your Internet Explorer.
To enable scripting:
Click the "Tools" menu on your Internet Explorer toolbar and select "Internet Options."
Click the "Security" tab.
Click the Internet (globe) icon and click the "Custom Level" button.
Scroll down to "Scripting."
Enable the following:
Active scripting
Allow paste operations via script
Scripting of Java applets are all enabled
Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
Note: Restart Yahoo! Messenger and you should start seeing text in your IM windows again.
