Error message 'Internet explorer cannot display the webpage' on every website?

I've just received a laptop from work but when trying to access my wireless connection at home which I'm already running one laptop off I get an error message saying ' Internet explorer cannot display the webpage'. This happens for every webpage I try to access. I have windows XP Pro, IE 6 and have tried resetting all Internet settings to defult and removing the firewall. Webpages can be displayed when connecting via a LAN at work.

Can anyone please help?

ur internet isnt set up?...check lan settings or bring it bk 2 the shop for help?
This means either your wireless connection is out of signal.

Set your wireless connection to LAN. Or just simply wait for signal. Now if signal is not the problem then try getting your wireless connection fixed.

your wireless router is blocking it had same prob with my other halfs xbox 360 when he was connecting to xbox live ..you have to go into the network settings and open up the firewall to a low setting that was the prob we had hope it helps
Put your firewall back on then follow the same procedure that you used to set up the wireless connection on the other laptop. The pages cannot be displayed because the computer cannot find the Internet (but isn't clever enough to tell you this more directly).
right hello, i have got the same problem as you, sometimes my computer completely crashes and come up with this message when you turn ya comp of it is back again. I belive this is due to loosing your wireless connection on the phoneline. All you can do is turn ya comp of and boot it it will go back to normal as soon as possible. If though however you are trying to set your interent connection up for first time try many things, but what i recomment you to do and make it done properly is to phone the network supplier you are on, and get a step by step through it, then it wont do this again promise.

p.s make sure you have turned ya wireless button " on" on ya comp
