I just opened up Y!Msgr for the first time after installing Y!Msgr and there is a stack of intriguing looking messages. Unfortunately I can't look at any of them. This message pops up:
An error has occurred in the script on this page. Line 2499, Char 21, Error Unexpected Quantifier, Code 0, URL .... Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? Yes/No
Whichever I choose I get a blank messenger box. And to throw salt in the wound, if I go to close the "offline messages" window I get a notice that doing so will delete all the messages (that I haven't been able to read).
My browser is Firefox and IE and I am using Windows 2000 Professional.
Y!Messenger "Internet Explorer Script Error" - HELP?windows xp service
Here is your answer:
When you send or receive an instant message and no message appears, you probably have scripting disabled in your Internet Explorer.
To enable scripting:
1.Click the "Tools" menu on your Internet Explorer toolbar and select "Internet Options."
2.Click the "Security" tab.
3.Click the Internet (globe) icon and click the "Custom Level" button.
4.Scroll down to "Scripting."
5.Enable the following:
oActive scripting
oAllow paste operations via script
oScripting of Java applets are all enabled
6.Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
Restart Yahoo! Messenger and you should start seeing text in your IM windows again.
