Messenger gives me an internet explorer script error when contacting anyone on my friends list?

Why do I recieve Script error messages when starting a conversation with a contact? Why does messenger version 7.5.1.814 sign me out of messenger and tell me that I have logged in at another location? When I have not done so. How do I download an older version of Messenger?
