Internet explorer?

I have ran my virus scan ...no viruses detected...but my computer keeps freezing up and giving me and "internet explorer has stopped responding or encountered a problem and will now shut down"I then send an error report everytime it happens. Can anyone tell me why this happens and how can I fix it?

Between those three you are doing a pretty good job of protecting your system and IE will likely run fine.

Delete the files in your profile's Temp and Temp Int folders. Barring that, build a new user with admin rights and login with that. If the problem goes away, it was being caused by corrupt settings in your profile.
Have you tried the microsoft support site to either find out the problem, or update your software with the latest patches.

The most simple way to fix your browser is reinstalling it. If you continue experiencing difficulties you may look for a PC tech, else get another browser, such as FIREFOX or AVANT or even NETSCAPE those are the most popular softwares around.

Other way, more complicated than the others is,,, rolling back your computer to an earlier time, tho it isn't that hard since it is a STEP by STEP process. But u have to remember the exact day the problem begun.

IE 7 is new enough that some sites and programs still do not support it properly. There is a small program that will fool these programs and site into thinking you are using IE6 and cause them to work properly. There is also a small program you can download that will automatically notify Microsoft of the IE7 incompatability with a site or program. This allows MS to contact these people and help fix their programs.

It could be the site-servers are clogged up..If your having I.E script based errors i would try using another browser as already recommended which is Mozillas Firefox. This will help determine if it's a browser based problem or FAacebook.

Ok, so I found a good wireless connection in my area and have been logging onto it recently. I have had no problems until suddenly I was going to website site and it came up with that ever so common error.

That's a recurring problem with IE7. There isn't anything you can change, except to uninstall IE7 and let it revert back to IE6. Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and the Show updates box at the top. When the list loads, find Internet Explorer 7 and click to remove it. After removal, close Control Panel and restart the computer. I think you'll find this problem has gone away!

The web based version of Microsoft Outlook is called Microsoft Exchange Server. Talk to whoever manages your network and ask them if there is support for IE 7 yet. Also check for IE 7 updates. My school uses Microsoft Exchange and IE 7 as well and we have had no problems.

Ok.. running WinXP and using Verizon DSL router. The problem is when I click on IE Icon (Not Shortcut Icon), an error window stating it can't connect to the path to some AOL welcome page... I hit ok, then it just stays there in the blank page still trying to connect to this AOL welcome page. Now, what I did is try to redirect IE to a different page that does work under tools, options, use current page tabs, and it keeps the address, but when I exit from the internet and hit the IE icon on the desktop to access the internet, it still has the same errors and accurences as before, even though it maintained the adrress change under tools, option..ect. It sounds like you may have a "AOL Hijack" going on.

1) Tools

2) Internet Options

3) Programs Tab

4) Left click on manage add ons on the bottom of the page

5) Click on the drop down menu to the right of the SHOW

6) Select "Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer"

7) Check for any items by AOL and remove them.

If this does not work, check for installed AOL applications. You may have to uninstall all AOL applications on the affected system.

Why bother with IE? Try Firefox. It is free and works on all the various versions of Windows. I have been using it since it became available and it is very stabile, easy to use and works where IE does not. I still have IE for crappy web sites that only work with IE and I have to use it. :(

IE7 may have some quirks. TIP - Switch to the Firefox Browswer. Once you do, like me, you will not return to the dark side. lol The firefox has a lot more features too. I like their bookmark section. in the top right window there is a red Y and a microscope (Click for search) there. Well if you click the red Y, you can store search engines there. but go and click help to learn and you will see all the neat stuff it has. When I left IE7 I was having that problem too. I use firefox browser and google search engine with others if I wish.

I've had this problem also. The only thing I can really suggest is to go to microsoft.com download a FULL INSTALL of IE and uninstall/rollback IE then insall the version you downloaded. That or get Firefox which is just better anyway.

If you are using Windows XP Pro you can check your Event logs by doing this,

Left click on Start

Left click on Control Panel

Double left click on Administrative Tools

Double left click on Event Viewer

Left click on Application and look for errors associated with IE

Left click on System and look for errors

You may see a link that will allow you to search for more detailed information and usually a solution.

Webpages can be displayed when connecting via a LAN at work.

This means either your wireless connection is out of signal.

Set your wireless connection to LAN. Or just simply wait for signal. Now if signal is not the problem then try getting your wireless connection fixed.

your wireless router is blocking it had same prob with my other halfs xbox 360 when he was connecting to xbox live ..you have to go into the network settings and open up the firewall to a low setting that was the prob we had hope it helps
Put your firewall back on then follow the same procedure that you used to set up the wireless connection on the other laptop. The pages cannot be displayed because the computer cannot find the Internet (but isn't clever enough to tell you this more directly).

I belive this is due to loosing your wireless connection on the phoneline. All you can do is turn ya comp of and boot it it will go back to normal as soon as possible. If though however you are trying to set your interent connection up for first time try many things, but what i recomment you to do and make it done properly is to phone the network supplier you are on, and get a step by step through it, then it wont do this again promise.

Script Error on Internet Explorer on MySpace?

The error says, "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly, If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script? Yes or No?"

This happens on various MySpace members pages. What can I do to stop it from happening. If I click on any links on their pages it freezes up then much much later comes up with the above error and you can say yes or no and it goes to the next page. This is such a pain!!!

I have to agree with the other posts. Firefox will do everything ie does and a lot more besides. Its free, it runs quickly and uses less system resources than IE. It will even import all your bookmarks from ie so that you can get up and running with it straight away. (FILE%26gt;IMPORT) If you like customisation, there is a lot you can do with it in terms of adding a variety of functions (TOOLS%26gt; ADD-ONS). If IE's not working for you, firefox might be worth a look for sure. You may not ever want to go back!!

Im sorry to say that when that happens IE is long gone , so try either re-install it or download , FIREFOX wish is WAY better than IE . The other way around will be that xp is NOT communicating and loading the necessary files to load IE

I agree, stop visiting sites that are overwhelming your machine with cookies. You might also want to consider installing Firefox. It is safer and less likely to crash.
try going to internet options in your control panel and select advanced options, then scroll down and see if you can reset IE. or try to uninstall it and reinstall it. if it is xp. if it is vista. try to reset it from that menu.

or go to your web update and make sure that your updates are in tact and up to date.

Ok,First off despite what a lot of people think.the sites that you visit actually has little to do with browser crashes,they are mostly caused by badly written dll files and add ons such as toolbars,and all browsers,including Firefox have problems simply because of the complicated tasks they are asked to perform and the actual crash rate is quite low when you consider the number of browsers running at any one time.

Now to get to the root of your problem,when IE crashes with a fatal error generally there is an indication of what file actually caused the error,it will say something like "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close (Mshtml.dll)"

or similar,if that happens in your situation copy down the details and either do a search on the Microsoft Knowledge Base for the error or post the details here.

If you are not getting any indication of what is causing it you can either reinstall Internet Explorer or try a bit of troubleshooting by starting in safe mode and see if it happens,or disable aby add ons such as third party toolbars etc.

And I am still connected when this happens, I can get on other sites no problem, When I click for more info I go to the network page and I repair the network adapter and then the page will load right away after it is repaired.

Your problem is IE7. Uninstall it and this stuff will go away. I hate it when people ask questions like this and the only answers they get are "Get Firefox." instead of helping you figure this out. If you click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and the Show updates box at the top, when the list loads you can find Internet Explorer 7 and click to remove it. I downloaded it too and had alot of errors and did'nt really even like it so I just deleted it and redownloaded my old one. Hope it helps. If it was CHKDSK, then the errors were likely there before IE7.

I'll be playing Euchre in Yahoo and a while into the game a Error states: Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and must close. An error report will prepare itself and I sent it to Microsoft. I've sent it many times and microsoft doesn't fix the problem! After the error report is sent, I'll lose internet connection finding myself at my desk top. Fed up!!!

Elguzano1 is on the right track I think. Try going to a friends computer or to your local Library and download some form of antivirus programs, try more than one some do not see some viruses. If you use more than one you stand a better chance. Avast and AVG are good free programs others are availeable.

If you can't get rid of them anyother way you can format and partation your drive but you will lose all information on your drive. Some good programs for this are at www.ultimatebootcd.com and //ebcd.pcministry.com. Try running these in SAFE mode this helps with most virsus. If you can't get your computer to boot from a CD, turn your computer off and restart it. As it starts push DELETE or whatever your computer goes to BIOS SETUP with. Then change the BOOT SEQUENCE to boot from your CD or DVD drive. If none of this works you may have a MBR (master boot record) virus. Google MBR virus and you may find a free program or some help to get rid of it. Good luck. Sometimes the only cheap way is to get a new harddrive.

We've had some reports of an IE Script error that pops up when you are trying to run a scan. We have found in one case that an key in the registry is preventing scripts from running on the local machine. If you run in to a script error and have a version of IE 7 installed try going to regedit and looking for the following key:

FEATURE_LOCALMACHINE_LOCKDOWN]

"iexplore.exe"=dword:00000000

You can either delete it or set the value to 1, we have found that both work. And then try running the scanner again.

I have experience that as well, for some reason when one window closes with an error they all close. However if you opened the two windows seperately by opening a new instance of IE for each, you can avoid this problem.

Those error messages are part of the browser's functionality - to stop them appearing would mean reconfiguring the browser, and as far as I am aware, scripts are not allowed to do that. To be honest, I'm glad they're not.

I have WinXP Media Center Edition with SP2. Whenever I close my Internet Explorer (Ver 6.0) a IEXPLORER.EXE-Application Error windows comes up. Says The instruction at" 0x62304390" referanced memory at "ox62304390". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program. I only have one option to Click OK !

Though I can use the Inter Explorer without any issues, its working absolutely fine, but this issue remains.

Also, this error message comes up when I have closed my final Explorer out of many.

I was getting the same messages after I closed all my windows. I did two things. First I went to "Tools" and the "Internet Options" and deleted all files - BE SURE TO CHECK THE OFFLINE CONTENT ALSO - then I clicked the "Advanced" tab and scrolled down to " HTTP1.1.Settings" and unchecked that box. After that I rebooted my PC and haven't had the problem since.

The directory is where you save the file to(so that probably means that the place you're trying to save the files to doesnt exist), so when you get the popup for your download, select save, and then in the new window, select a place to save the file to from the drop-down box near the top (next to where it says save in) and select desktop or my documents to easily find your file

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history.
